Happy New Year Argentina!
Our fourth grade class has had a great start to the New Year!
This month we are
working on writing responses to literature. We read a short
story and then
analyze it to find the theme, author’s purpose and the author’s message.
So far we have read many great short stories such as “Dirty Socks” by Aims
Webb, Aesops fables, and popular stories in Spanish such as “El Burro, el niño
y
el anciano” , and “El Sapo y el Ratón”. This past week has also been a
special
week for us as we were chosen to participate in a national assessment
called
the NAEP Test. The results of the assessment will be published
nationally and
will show how our class compares in math, science and language
arts to other
4th graders in the nation.
Next month is also an exciting time for us because we will
be attending the
Chevron STEM Zone at the AT&T National Golf Pro-AM in
Pebble Beach,
California. We will be learning about golf and how science,
technology,
engineering, and math are used in the game of golf.

Feliz Año Nuevo Argentina!
¡Aquí, en 4to grado nuestra clase ha tenido un gran comienzo
para el nuevo
año! Este mes estamos trabajando en escribir respuestas a la
literatura.
Leímos un cuento y luego lo analizamos para encontrar el tema, el
propósito
del autor y el mensaje del autor. Hasta ahora hemos leído muchas
historias
cortas como "calcetines sucios" por Aims Webb, fábulas de
Aespo y cuentos
populares en español como "El Burro, El Niño y el
anciano", y "El Sapo y el
Ratón". La semana pasada también ha
sido una semana muy especial para
nosotros ya que fuimos escogidos para
participar en una evaluación nacional
llamada la prueba NAEP. Los resultados de
la evaluación serán publicados a
nivel nacional y se mostrará cómo nuestra
clase se compara en matemáticas,
ciencias y artes del lenguaje de otros
estudiantes de 4to grado en la nación.
El mes que viene también es un momento emocionante para
nosotros porque
estaremos presentes en la Zona STEM Chevron en el Pro-AM AT
& T National
Golf en Pebble Beach, California. Vamos a aprender sobre el
golf y cómo la
ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas se utilizan en el
juego del golf.
